Makeup Malarky.

Following my Wardrobe Organization post, I thought I would do one for my makeup etc as well :) I spend a fair amount of money on cosmetics. Without it I look a bit like the creatures in The Hills Have Eyes. So I am forever spending money to try and improve my skin etc. and trying out different products. It takes up a lot of space.I should really cut down to be honest and enjoy the skin God gave me. But whilst women like Megan Fox exist, the pressure is there to look like a photoshopped angel, and if it costs me a few pennies in Boots than so be it!

The majority of my makeup sits here, at easy reach on my chest of drawers next to the mirror. (Which in turn is strategically placed by the window so I don't slap on the face to go out looking like I've rolled in a giant bag of cheesy Doritos.)

This little basket was about £3 from Poundstretcher, and I keep all of my most frequently used lotions and potions in here. Hairspray, facial cleanser, cotton wool pads, daily moisturiser (Nivea) my giant face brush, heat protectant spray, dry shampoo, tangle teaser spray, hairbands etc. The sunglasses have taken temporary shelter here until I get them cases or a place to live. (Black ones were £4 from H and M, the brown Aviator rip offs were £1 from Primark last summer.)

On top of my makeup drawers I have a lovely Cath Kidston jewellery box which was a birthday present from my flatmate Jess. In that lives all my lipsticks.(I live by Mac and Topshop lipsticks, but there are a few Rimmel and one Natural Collection one too which was probably my best ever purchase.) My pills are there too for easy access and so I look at them every morning and remember to take them! The mug was £1 and B and M and I keep all my brushes and eyeliners and pencil-esque objects in there. (And my comb and tweezers!)

My actual makeup is all kept in the ever-famous clear drawers from Muji. (Made famous by all Bloggers who ever did a post on makeup storage.) I lined the bottom of them with some pretty wrapping paper to stop them getting all gross. Top drawer is the eyeshadows I use most frequently, and a  couple of lipbalms. Below lives all my mascara's, below that my blushers, bronzers, primers and eyebrow kits. The bottom drawer is all my different foundations. (I self tan a lot towards the summer so my skin always changes colour!) I have the foundation with SPF for holiday, the mousse for nights out, the lighter liquid for daily use, the daily tinted moisturiser for holidays or gymming, and a concealer stick.

I think this system is pretty practical and works well.
How do you guys store your cosmetics?
