A Music Review - Because YOLO.

Tuesday, 29 October 2013
Recently in class we were to write a music review in 15 minutes after all watching the same clip. This is what I produced.

"Bipolar Sunshine’s ‘Love More Worry Less’ would be better named ‘Love Less, Worry More.’ The song opens with a voice speaking in a low monotone, is it possible to be out of tune when you aren’t even singing? The song continues and I assume the crew picked up some Randoms from the street and threw them together for the background vocalists as they all moan and groan happily out of tune with one another.
As the song continues it becomes clear that they must have used the same auto tune device that paved the way for Rebecca Black to become so famous. This, matched with the lyrical genius of repeating ‘call me if you need someone to lean on’ for the majority of the song sets the (out of) tone for us.
The enchanting pale woman in the video looks a mixture of extremely afraid and slightly confused, as if someone stole her last Rolo. The visuals aren’t all doom and gloom, his shirt looks great for a trip to Hawaii. Of course this is overlooked by the fact his strange hairstyle is skewed to one side and off centre – very distracting. It’s not all bad though, with the song picking up the pace about ¾ of the way through. It actually finishes sounding strangely like Christmas tune, ‘Feed The World’, if it was shit."

I think I should stick to fashion and beauty.

Big Cat Bomber

Friday, 18 October 2013

Bomber jackets are something I am a big fan of. I have collected a fair few in my wardrobe, mostly Adidas.  When I checked out the Topshop sale and found this beauty for half price at £25, I had to grab it. It's so crazy!

It has loads of padding on the inside so chuck on a scarf for the winter and you're good to go. (Perhaps not if Scotland keeps getting colder but for now it's a gem.)
It actually really reminds me of something I would see on my Style Crush Of The Moment - Phoebe Lettice. Her style focuses around statement jackets, shoes and sunnies, while keeping her whole vibe pretty retro.
Enter the most insane jacket seen by mankind:

Possibly my Favourite Purchase of the YEAR

Thursday, 10 October 2013

Considering I purchased my beloved Air Max this year, I feel this is an extremely bold statement to make. However, I also feel it's justified.

I have this friend called Daisy. She's really cool. As in, she has a blue afro. Yes - That cool. So she turns up at mine in these amazing trainers (we all know I'm a fiend for trainers), and I had to ask where she got them.
Of course, girl code states you should probably ask if you want to purchase the same item as a friend (who is ever snide enough to actually say no to this btw?!) and I ran off to Edinburgh once I got the go-ahead to purchase them. However, as a Sale item, of course they didn't have any left, so I resorted to -God Forbid- online sale browsing. But hurrah! I found them, and the only size left was my size.
So I purchased these beautiful new babies for (this is the best bit, and why they defeat my £105 limited edition Nike's. Drum roll please! Dun dun dun duuuun...) £10!!! Yes, you heard it right. I felt like Carrie Bradshaw when she was at the shoe market in Dubai and couldn't believe anyone would even sell shoes for twenty dollars.

They are from New Look, hurry down to your local and see if they have any left, quick! Paired with my fantabulous new socks from Topshop. Pink and dinosaurs? Yes please.

What's your favourite purchase of the year?

The Latest in Retail Incentives

Tuesday, 8 October 2013

I love an incentive. I love having a goal to aim for because I get a little treat at the end - call me materialistic. I've been promising myself an expensive new ring for when I stop biting my nails, though I doubt that day will ever come. My teeth seem to find them whatever tactics I use. I've fallen back into my happy gym routine post-freshers week, and lost a bit of alcohol weight which has made me one happy camper.

I've decided I need a shiny new incentive - although I'm not sure what my goal is. I think I'll set it as when I have some abs definition I can get my treat! The treat I've chosen is (despite the poor weather opportunities) a new bikini from Triangl.

I've seen them floating about for a while and think they're so flattering, all the better to show off my new rippling six pack in! (Perhaps less rippling six pack and more conveniently placed shadows due to dodgy tanning.) They're a wee bit more pricey than what I would normally pay for a bikini but I see it as an investment - they'll last much longer than you're average H&M purchase.

I can't decide which colour I like best - the pale blue Santa Rosa Splash, the brighter yellow Phoenix Summer or the baby pink California Coral. Leaning towards the pink or blue - opinions?

(Obviously I will look exactly like this toned tanned model in the bikini.)
