I thought I would do another Best Friend Outfit post. It was the end of season dinner to celebrate the Stirling Clansmen, so relatively formal, but still something you could wear to go out afterwards.
As always, my beautiful blue-haired model amiga is Daisy, and the hairy one being a pain in the ass whilst trying to take photo's is Draco Malfoy.
Daisy is wearing a dress from Oh My Love, with Primarni wedges. I am wearing a Missguided halter neck with Primarni heels from last season which I love. They make me think of candy. Hats off to you Primark.
These pictures were actually taken post-dinner so we are looking a bit worse for wear, but here is a shot pre-dinner where we were much more lively.
Daisy's clutch is from Topshop. You can barely see my clutch but I wrote a post on it here. Our friend Megan (right) is wearing another OhMyLove dress with red Zara heels. <3 We make a happy bunch.
Firstly I would like to apologise for my unscheduled hiatus, blogging had to take a backseat whilst I dealt with some personal issues. The next week or so may be a bit dodgy but I promise to get back into the swing of things ASAP.
Moving swiftly onwards, Topshop have collared with Ashish to bring the (pardon my french) fucking coolest collection to hit the high street in a long time. (IMO.) A delicious combination of leopard print, bold slogans and 90s style transparent accessories, this collection is the ultimate dream.
It launches a week from today, on the 29th. Get the bank cards ready, ladies.
All my hair is gone. It's a tragic day for me. I realised it was just so dead and dry from all my bleaching and no matter how many masks I used on it the only way forwards was go hack it all off. Hopefully it will grow back long and healthy for the summer but until then I'll just use my extensions.
If I could wear this outfit without tights I would have, it was just a bit too nippy. Standard Scotland. I got the shorts for a job interview last week from Miss Selfridge, they had an amazing matching cropped blazer but unfortunately only had size 14s left. The crop is from Topshop, I like it because it's a bit longer so you can't see much midriff.
The blush blazer is the love of my life, and an H&M number. Perfect for carrying through to SS14. The monochrome boots are from New Look.
And lastly, here is Draco donning the Daisy headband from Claire's, apparently a favourite at Vogue. He looks like a majestic bear-child.
The Met Ball. A gathering for the most prestigious and beautiful people in the world. Here I am giving them a little space on my blog to appreciate their fashion wisdom. And also to laugh at the ones who IMO, failed tragically at making us all lime green jelly at their outfits.
In no particular order…
The Best Dressed.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. You are doing it right. Couples far and wide - take note. Both are donning Gucci, both look like they've fallen out of a modern day fairytale, complete with horse and carriage and fat talking mice. Her loose curls complete the perfect dress.
Suki Waterhouse. There are no words. She looks like a European princess. The only way she could improve this Burberry dress is if she had accessorised with Bradley Cooper on her arm.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. No surprise to see these fashion icons in this list. Wearing Ferre and Chanel, they look classy, elegant, and striking. The pearls are the perfect touch.
Cara Delevingne. A bold move to opt away from a dress, but Cara is the one to pull it off. In a full Stella McCartney outfit, she has mastered monochrome trends with the perfect tailoring. Accessorised with the perfect body, and just enough diamonds for us to know she's a big deal, but not trashy.
Jessica Alba. Her tan is perfectly sunkissed, her makeup is sultry yet understated. Her Diane Von Furstenberg dress is the perfect golden hue to compliment her glowing complexion, the red nails are the final, perfect, classy touch. High five, Alba.
Selena Gomez. This dress hugs in at all the right places, making her look deliciously curvy with the perfect silhouette. The dark lip finishes off the seductive look. She is Disney no more! (As if Spring Breakers didn't already confirm this..)
... And the worst.
Sarah Jessica Parker. A painful twang of unfaithfulness and treason is burning across my heart right now for even having SJ in this list. But she is doing Bradshaw a huge injustice. The Oscar de la Renta gown? A bit too much. Throw in the elbow gloves, beehive hairstyle complete with white flower clip and drag queen makeup and we have a total disaster. Clean up on isle 4 please.
Lupita Nyong'o. The world's example that you can be as beautiful as a unicorn on the inside and as messy as an ostrich on the outside. Yes, it's Prada. Yes, those are Cartier. No, it's still not acceptable.
Kristen Stewart. Whoever said playing with textures was a good idea needs to look at this outfit and re-evaluate their mantra. She doesn't even look happy herself to be wearing that Chanel piece . Oh, wait…
Kirsten Dunst. Sorry Kirsten, but this Rodarte dress looks like something I would have made in GCSE textiles class.
Maggie Gyllenhaal. There are actually no words for this monstrosity of a fashion error. This Valentino cape/dress scenario is reminiscent of a Twister matt, but more grungy and less colourfully inviting. Unless you are a superhero, a cape should not be worn in public. And definitely NEVER on a red carpet. Or even near one, for that matter.
Emma Stone. It breaks my heart to put Emma in this list but she looks like a pre-teen from the 90s dressed to go to the school disco. Why does she have 4 different shades of pink on? 5 if you count her blusher/bronzer disaster. The side swept braid is sweet, but the outfit itself looks like something you would see on a 90s beach Barbie doll.
Lily Allen. This Chanel dress looks like a cut'n' paste project from school, the bag looks like a bedazzled crisp packet. There's hope for the Louboutin peep-toes, unfortunately they are hidden under the paper-mache wrap she's come dressed in.
Shailene Woodley. This Valentino 'dress' looks like a rug from an antiques roadshow. Thank God she didn't try to accessorise this.
Suki Waterhouse is the new face of the Superga campaign. How this woman is just a few months older than me I will never fathom, she is absolutely stunning. Plus Superga shoes are sick. So here are some shots of the campaign - let's all take a moment out of our day to appreciate how stunning she is.
