OOTD: A LDB for Winter

Monday, 9 November 2015
I needed a winter dress. Something to switch it up a bit from my staple jeans-and-jumper go-to. (A solid, yet undisputedly boring outfit choice, for any occasion.) I was browsing for a little black dress (the most versatile wardrobe colour) with long sleeves and came across this polo neck from ASOS. Dream.

Prepare for me looking very sullen and gaunt. It's my new winter look.

The dress is the perfect length for wearing to work, hitting just above the knee so it's not inappropriately short. I teamed it for work with tights and some little flat leopard pumps. Someone even called me 'chic', which is the first time it's ever been said. In fact, at first I thought he might have said 'shit.'

I've styled it here for a night out, and I'm going out Friday so will probably debut this look. With a good coating of fake tan for good measure, I also got labelled Wednesday Adams which just reminded me how badly I need the sun. These shoes are an absolute treasure piece which I picked up in the Office sale. They are the perfect wearable height.

My hair is newly dyed, because it really is true that once you go black you never go back. It's was my longest stint without being black - a long while with a summery dip dye and then a slow ease into a dark chocolate brown before sodding it all and going black again. My lipstick here is MAC Whirl, but for a night out I might go with something a little more fun, like the bright magenta, Flat Out Fabulous.

Whats your go-to winter dress and how do you change up how you style it?
