1 Top 3 Ways: The Pinafore Dress

I am so obsessed with this top that I'm doing three outfit builds around it, and this is the very first installment. It's from the Miss Selfridge premium Designed By collection, and luckily there are a few sizes still in stock! (I got it as a present from my boss.)

The highstreet is teaming with this type of top at the moment though - beautiful bohemiam blouses with huge romantic ruffled sleeves and pretty embroidered detailing. It's right up my street, I feel like a female Jesus illustration crossed with a fairy. All I need is a pet unicorn to ride majestically into the distance and my look is complete.

For this first outfit I've paired it with a little jersey pinafore dress, but this look would work just as well with a swing dress or the more on-trend cami slip dress. This one was bought from Asos.

I really enjoy the contrasting of the grungier streetstyle daydress with the feminine fairytale feel of the blouse, I think it's a really nice juxtapose.

My shoes are my beautiful ponyhair dalmatian boots from Glamorous - they are super comfy and the perfect height for daytime wear.

My lipstick is Mehr from Mac and details on my hair can be found in this post I did.

Check back soon for the next two looks I've built around this top, which illustrate that even though more expensive Premium Collection pieces like this can be a big investment, you can build so many different outfits around them that it makes it worth the pricetag.

What's your favourite premium purchase? x

  1. I LOVE this blouse - you can't beat the classic way of wearing a pinafore and blouse. It always makes me feel much more dressed up with zero effort <3
