The Trend I've Bought Into For Summer...

As a general rule I try not to buy into trends, but the straw bag has won me over for SS17. Starting off as a big thing in the 70s when launched by Birkin and making a comeback this season with Dolce and Gabanna, it's trickled down to the highstreet and my peasant-self is glad.

My bag is by South Beach and bought via ASOS -  I love the crochet detailing and little tassels for a boho-ey vibe. I had originally bought a different one but when it arrived it was a little too small for beach days and towels, so I had to send it back. This one I had thought was a little too big for everyday use, but looking at the photos now I think you can make it work. I will be toting it about the pool in Florida next month for sure.

My dress is a total dream. I actually got it on Depop from the stylist Emma Thatcher, after one too many wines on a night out. I had been eyeing it during the day and a little dutch courage and my bank balance wasn't a concern any more... woops! It was actually from the H&M Studio SS17 collection, and is made from a gorgeous silk blend which makes it really lightweight and breathable. Don't get me wrong, I still sweat like a little mole rat when taking these photos.

My sandals are from Warehouse via ASOS, and although at first they hurt like a lil' bitch, my feet have somehow gotten accustomed to the metal ring and they're super comfy to traipse around in all day. (They're in the sale now, so if you're quick...)

Sunglasses are super old (sorry!) and Topshop own.

My photos were taken for me by my friend Tim, who kindly put up with me stopping to pet dogs, stopping to complain about how much I want a dog, and to take a little wine-break at a pub even though he wasn't drinking. Girl's gotta wine when a girl's gotta wine. All a part of upping the quality of my blog for you guys, so let me know what you think!

Have you bought into any trends this season?
